MP30: Used to record the Galvanic Skin Response (GRS). GSR is the electric conductance of the hands that depends upon the sudation. Hand sudation depend upon the sympathetic tone. More the subject is stressed, more the conductance is high.

Plethysmograph: This device calculates a volume. The device knows the volume of its cuff (see the probe gallery). You put the leg in the cuff and then you know the volume of the leg. You can also monitor its changes.

Physioflow: A thorax impedancemeter. The thorax impedance depend upon the volume of the thorax. This volume change since the heart push blood in it. Then the impedance changes between two heart beats and this change is proportional to the blood volume of the heart stroke

Photoplethysmograph: The probe of this device is made from a LED that illuminates the skin and a light sensor at the haemoglobin wavelength. The light intensity changes with the volume of blood near from the probe. Then this light intensity changes in parallel with the blood pulse

Periflow: is a plethysmograph. It evaluates volume changes of an arm or a leg thanks to a mercury strain gauge (a plastic tubing filled with mercury, stretching the tubing alter the electrical resistance of the mercury). This device is also able to measure arm (leg) blood flow by controlling inflation of arm (thigh) cuffs (see the large tubings on the left).

Cardiomed: integrates serveral devices to monitor the cardiovascular function of cosmonautes from the earth. Cardiomed includes doppler to determine the blood flow velocities into the arteries. We used cardiomed to record flow velocities into the aorta and into the femoral artery.
See the CNES movie.

Thermograhy camera: regular camera collect light and colors but this camera collect temperature. You can get a temperature picture of a subject because he (she) is warmer than the ambiant temperature.
